Recognising Jamsons and the support it has built among customers and its local community

Jamsons is celebrating after being named Estate Agency of the Year in the East Midlands 2026, part of the My Local Awards programme for East Midlands.

The award recognises businesses that have made a genuine impression on the people they serve. Jamsons was announced as a winner on 1 September 2026, following public voting across the programme. My Local Awards is free to enter, and businesses cannot pay to be nominated, shortlisted or named a winner.

For Jamsons, the recognition reflects more than a single moment. It represents the relationships the business has built with its clients, the work that goes on behind the scenes and the reputation it has established in and around Sleaford.

Jamsons describes itself as "A local independent estate agent that specialises in sales".

Why Jamsons was recognised

The award highlights the qualities that have helped Jamsons stand out in its category and earn the support of the people who know the business best.

Being named Estate Agency of the Year places Jamsons among the businesses recognised through the East Midlands 2026 for the contribution they make to their clients and communities across East Midlands.

Reacting to the win

For the people behind Jamsons, the result is also a chance to reflect on the support they have received from clients and the wider community.  Awards of this kind are ultimately shaped by the people who choose to support, recommend and vote for the businesses they value.

We are blown away and I was so thankful to everyone who voted and the team here at Jamsons. Something I will never forget

Jamie Aspland, Managing Director, Jamsons

The recognition provides an opportunity for the business to celebrate what it has achieved so far while also looking ahead to its next chapter.

What the award means to the business

Winning Estate Agency of the Year gives Jamsons an independent piece of recognition that can be shared with clients, team and supporters.  For many small and independent businesses, an award carries particular meaning because the people voting are often the same people who visit, buy from, recommend and return to the business throughout the year.

We didn't create Jamsons to win awards but it's great to receive the recognition"

It also gives new clients a visible sign of the reputation the business has developed locally.  The official winner record for Jamsons remains publicly available through My Local Awards, providing confirmation of this award as well as any previous awards the business has received.

The story behind Jamsons

Behind every award-winning business is a story of how it began, why Jamie chose to pursue it and how it developed into the business clients know today.  Jamsons has built its own story in Sleaford, developing its products, services and client experience as the business has grown.

We started in Jan 2026, after I worked for the same company for 21 years.

Jamie Aspland, Managing Director, Jamsons

Like many successful local businesses, its identity is shaped not simply by what it sells or provides, but by the way it approaches its work and the experience it aims to create for clients.

Doing things differently

Competition is part of almost every industry, but the businesses that build strong client loyalty usually give people a reason to remember them.  Whether that comes from personal service, specialist knowledge, consistency, creativity or simply doing the fundamentals exceptionally well, those differences can become an important part of a business's reputation.

We pride ourselves on local service with a personal touch and modern approach with technology

Jamie Aspland, Managing Director, Jamsons

That approach has helped Jamsons establish its place among the businesses serving Sleaford and contributed to the support reflected in its latest award.

Building something to be proud of

An award is one milestone, but it sits alongside the many smaller achievements involved in building and maintaining a business.  Growth, loyal clients, new services, a strong team and simply navigating difficult periods can all become significant markers of progress.

We've had a strong start and around 20 5-star Google reviews, at time of award, from people who have sold and moved into their new homes whilst at the same time built up a sizeable marketshare of Sleaford, the local town.

Overcoming challenges

Running a business rarely follows a completely straightforward path.  Changing client behaviour, rising costs, staffing pressures and unexpected setbacks can all require businesses to adapt quickly while continuing to deliver for the people who depend on them.

Staffing has been a challenge but I'm proud to say I'm blessed with the team we have at Jamsons and the support network around us.

Jamie Aspland, Managing Director, Jamsons

Experiences like these often shape the way a business operates long after the immediate challenge has passed, strengthening both its resilience and its understanding of what clients value most.

Part of the Sleaford community

Although the award forms part of the wider East Midlands programme, Jamsons's story is rooted in Sleaford.  Local businesses often play a role that reaches beyond their day-to-day commercial activity, becoming part of the network of people, organisations and clients that make up the area.

Being part of the local community and surrounding areas is what we have built our business on. We are a proud member of the Relocation Agent Network which gives us a further reach to out of the area buyers and sellers.

Jamie Aspland, Managing Director, Jamsons

Jamsons also described its involvement in the local community:

We do a lot of charity work and try to help, support and sponsor as many local events and businesses as we can."

That local connection is an important part of the My Local Awards programme, which gives members of the public an opportunity to recognise businesses that have made an impression on them personally.

Clients at the heart of the business

Client relationships are particularly important for local and independent businesses, where recommendations, repeat visits and word of mouth can make a significant difference.  Individual experiences can often explain more about a business than a list of products or services ever could.

“Feedback such as Gillian Brooke: We are so pleased that we chose Jamie to sell our Mum and Dad’s house, it was an emotional rollercoaster and he helped us to make the right decisions every step of the way. From the valuation to the day of the sale he was supportive, gave great advice, and treated us with empathy and respect at a difficult time. The photos and video of the house were brilliant and he achieved a quick sale at the desired asking price. His hard work and personal approach to selling houses makes such a difference, and we had complete faith and trust in him. He also put us in touch with a great conveyancer, who again, was always on the end of a phone to deal with any questions and ensured the sale went through smoothly. We would 100% recommend Jamsons and wish Jamie and his team a very successful future.”

Jamie Aspland, Managing Director, Jamsons

Stories such as these help explain why clients choose to support particular businesses and why public recognition can carry so much significance for the people running them.

A message of confidence for clients

For existing clients, the award is a chance to celebrate a business they already know.  For somebody discovering Jamsons for the first time, it offers an additional indication that local clients have had experiences they felt were worth recognising.

I think its exactly what Jamsons is about: the close connection we have with sellers and buyers alike, making house buying less transactional and more about the relationships.

Jamie Aspland, Managing Director, Jamsons

Looking ahead

While the award celebrates what Jamsons has already achieved, the business is also looking towards what comes next.  Winning does not mark the end of the story; it provides another milestone from which the team can continue developing the business and serving its clients.

We're celebrating a year in December and in late November we're attending an estate agent awards where Jamsons has been nomiated for severeal awards.  We'll use this opportunity to reward the Jamson team with hopefully a night to remember"

Jamie Aspland, Managing Director, Jamsons

Thanking the people behind the win

Recognition of this kind rarely belongs to one person alone.  Clients, employees, families, suppliers, collaborators and members of the wider community can all play a part in helping a business reach important milestones.

“This award is for every client who has trusted Jamsons to sell their home, the amazing team - Dean, our award-winning photographer, Charlotte our social media guru, Ian who has provided me with unwaivered support and volunteered his free time to help with viewings in my first months.  To my family, my brother on the south coast who is all things IT, website and technology integrations.  My Mum, Layla and my son Jai for supporting where they can.  Last, but my no means least, Emma and Tina, the solid foundations who are in the office day in, day out.  Without everyone playing their part both me and Jamsons wouldn't be where we are today.  Thank you from the bottom of my heart, without you, Jamsons wouldnt even be a thing

Jamie Aspland, Managing Director, Jamsons
